spark party & a tutorial

hi everyone! happy fourth!!! spark journal is having an awesome blog party, and i guest blogged a tutorial on how to make pinwheels [for kids who can't have sparklers yet].

[[btw, this picture is tooootally cute if you look at it bigger, just click on it. :) it loses a lot of the details when it's small.-ish.]
and while i was finishing up the pinwheels, i thought to myself "wouldn't it be so cute if i had a teeny tiny bunting to photograph with them?!" so i made one with my scraps and decided to post a tutorial here because i'm in a tutorial kind of mood.
1. gather tiny scraps of paper [approximately 2.5" by 1.5"]. make sure to have an extra piece or two to make a template.

2. cut the extra piece into an isosceles triange [how about a little geometry this holiday weekend, eh?! i didn't even have to google that! haha!] to use as a template for your bunting banner.

3. cut out your other pieces of paper to match the template.
4. figure out the order that you want them.
6. punch two holes in each of them. [i couldn't find my crop-a-dile, so i had to use a regualer hole punch. it turned out cute, but i think a smaller hole would've made it cuter.]7. find a piece of ribbon that coordinates.
8. thread the ribbon through each of the holes9. and you have an adorable tiny bunting banner!!!i think it'd be super cute to tie it onto wooden skewers, and make it into a center piece for a party table.

don't forget to head over to the spark journal for their party! [and my super cute pinwheels! ;) ]
